Webster Perinatal Care

Throughout the course of pregnancy, a woman's body is constantly changing with the baby. The additional weight, the change in distribution of the weight, and the hormone relaxin may all contribute to postural distortions and spinal and pelvic misalignments, which in turn can affect nerve, muscle, and joint function and tone.

The Webster technique is a specific sacral analysis and chiropractic adjustment that reduces stress on the nervous system, balances pelvic muscles and ligaments, and optimizes the mother's pelvic function in pregnancy and birth. This may help reduce back, pelvic, or SI joint pain, headaches, and generally improve comfort.

Webster is neither a baby turning technique nor a treatment for the baby. Webster is a way of treating the mom-to-be so that her pelvic joints, muscles, and ligaments are balanced, which creates the best possible environment for mom and her baby.

Webster can be started at any time during the pregnancy, but the earlier the better!
